About Us
Our Vision
Establish a completely volunteer driven, financially transparent effort to create engaging and enriching set of activities, competitions and cultural show for all members of the Indian community irrespective of language and faith backgrounds.
Over the past 13 years, the team of volunteers has grown from 4/5 volunteers in 2007 to over 30 volunteers planning, and conducting scholastic, artistic and sports activities, competitions as well as a cultural show with 30+ performances in 2019. In the year 2017, DesisAroundRockyHillCT was formed into a not-for-profit organisation and now in the year 2021, the organisation is already underway with a calendar of activities started in February with a Mallakhamb Coaching Center that operates weekly once, and now we are gearing up for the fourth year of 10 day long Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav in the history of CT. We will also be starting some other activities that will create avenues for teachers artists and musicians to add value to the community and to pass on their knowledge to the next generation.

Satya Adapa
Founder
Satya is the Treasurer for DesisAroundRockyHillCT Inc, and handles the finances of the organisation. Presenting Budget, managing accounts, preparing financial statements are his main responsibilities.
Satya works in the Insurance Sector as Program Manager for a leading IT Services firm in USA
Satya earned his master’s degree in computers from Devi Ahilya University.
Community ActivitiesSatya has been one of the pillars of DARHCT since past 10 yrs and has been very active in all our activities. He also volunteers with the Telugu Association of Connecticut.
Hobbies and InterestsSatya loves listening to music and watching comedy movies.
Laxma Dendi
Director
Laxma is a Director in DesisAroundRockyHillCT Inc, and has been organizing the highly popular Chess Competition for past many years. He is the brains behind streamlining the ticketing process for the Annual Diwali Program and making it mobile friendly. He is an avid and constant learner who loves long drives, chess and badminton.
Laxma has over 15 years of IT experience and presently works as a Technical Account Manager in Amazon Web Services.
Laxma earned his master’s degree in Computer Engineering anmd Computer Science from Univ of Missouri-Columbia.
Community ActivitiesLaxma has been very active in many community organizations including DARHCT, Power of Peace, Sewa Diwali and also participated in the CT Gubernatorial Candidates' Campaign 2018.
Hobbies and InterestsLaxma loves chess, long drives and badminton .
Sailesh Kalangi
Director
Sailesh is a Director in DesisAroundRockyHillCT Inc, he is passionate about Mathematics, Public Speaking, and Leadership , He brings to the table his unmatched ability in detailed planning and meticulous followup of the planned activities.
Sailesh works as Head IT Sales and Marketing in Insurance Industry in USA.

Upendra Watwe
Ex. Director (Inception to 2021)
Upendra Watwe was the Founder Chairperson of DesisAroundRockyHillCT Inc. He has varied interests from Organizing Community Activities, Coaching children in Swimming and Mallakhamb as well as Wood Carving and Clay Sculptures
Upendra is an IT professional and entrepreneur who has over 20 yrs of experience in Web and Mobile Software development. His knowledge of website architecture, development, hosting & integration with PayPal has been instrumental in the development and successful operation of the website of DesisAroundRockyHillCT and has helped streamline the collection of donations via the website of BVUSA.
EducationUpendra has a Bachelor Degree in Electronics Engineering and a Masters in Marketing Management from University of Pune, India.
Community ServiceUpendra has 10+ years of experience organizing culturally enriching Scholastic and Artistic community activities in Connecticut under the aegis of DesisAroundRockyHillCT, a not for profit organization. Upendra's skill lies in identifying experts in various fields, bringing them together on a common platform and leading programs where the larger community benefits from cohesive efforts of the subject experts. He has also initiated a Mallakhamb Coaching Center in CT in which he is the Founder and Head Coach, he is also helping with an upcoming Mallakhamb Coaching Center in Shrewsbury MA.
Hobbies and InterestsUpendra is an aspiring artist and has organised Clay Sculpture workshops over the past 5 years. He is also a Certified Red Cross Swim Instructor for the past decade. He is an avid wood carving artist and has clients for his custom carved wood home temples across the USA.
Seema Watwe

Seema Watwe is a Director in DesisAroundRockyHill Inc. She is a keen singer of Hindustani Classical and a aspiring Kathak dancer.
Seema is a Senior IT professional with over 20 yrs of experience in Delivery Management, Project and Program Management. She currently works as a SCRUM Master in a leading Healthcare Organization in Connecticut.
EducationSeema has a Bachelor Degree in Electronics Engineering and Diploma in Advanced Computing from CDAC , She also PMP certified and a SCRUM Master.

Upcoming Event - Ganeshotsav 2024 From 6th to 16th Sep 2024
10 day Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav
DARHCT In collaboration with VIPO, DARHCT is very pleased to announce successful culmination of the 10 day Ganeshotsav at Vallabhdham Temple, Newington from 10th Sep 2021 to 19th Sep 2021, with culturally enriching activities, performances , art exhibition and entirely conducted through volunteer effort.
* Over 50 volunteers participated in organising.
* Co-sponsoring daily Pooja/Archana and evening Prasadam was supported by over 50 families.
* Event was attended by over 500 people over the 10 day period.
